The first beer any brewer tastes when visiting another brewery is always its pilsner. Unlike other styles, pilsners can’t hide faults behind malt, hops or barrels, and so are a true representation of the brewery at hand. At Moody Tongue, we find beauty in the simplicity of this style and as a brewer we respect the challenge. This is our pilsner, and we are excited to share this with you. As the first beer which any brewer drinks before exploring other styles, enjoy our Aperitif Pilsner to wake your palate before your next meal.
Named of the original name of the city of Kennesaw (our home town), Big Shanty is not a little beer by any means. Made with real graham cracker crumbs and honey, itʼs sweetness is only challenged by itʼs strong roast and hop bitterness. A world class stout with an extreme amount of local flavor.
Naturally elegant and refreshingly adult with a sweet-sharp blackberry tang and mouthwatering juicy complexity, complemented by a luscious pear-berry bouquet. Naturally fermented using 100% pear juice, not from pear juice concentrate, or flavored hard apple cider. Filtered cold for extra purity, with no added colorants, sugar, sorbate or benzoate preservatives. No added malt, spirit, grape or apple alcohols.
A traditional Doppelbock fermented with an old world yeast. Reddish brown in color with a mild hop profile, Consecrator is a well-balanced, full-bodied lager with hints of caramel and molasses in its smooth, malty finish after spending 3 months maturing in our fermentation tanks.
Juicy all the way! Packed full of tropical, citrus, and stone fruit flavors. A smooth, easy drinking IPA. Very hoppy, never bitter.
Hoppy, roasted and smooth. This India Brown Ale will stay on your mind long after the last taste, like a song of the classic variety which may or may not have inspired this beer.
A malty amber ale boasting rich toasted and caramel flavors, Green Man ESB is one of our award-winning signature brews. Our blend of authentic British malts and hops creates a nutty aroma, full body, and a sweet finish. Prepare yourself for a truly exceptional interpretation of a traditional English style.
Eschaton is a one-of-a-kind oaked all-malt Quadrupel (or “Belgian Strong Dark” if you prefer) that abounds with dark fruit and pit fruit flavors as well as earthy spiciness. Vanilla oak and warm viniferous notes assert themselves as the beer warms to reveal additional layers of delicious complexity.
Blake's Flannel Mouth is made with a wide array of late season table and dessert apples. This succulent combination gives it a sweet flavor than finishes incredibly smoothly. Made 100% with Michigan-grown apples, Flannel Mouth is sure to win you over. Again and again.
This new Imperial IPA is made with Loral, Ariana, and Ekuanot*, three very new varieties of hops and a hefty dose of lupulin powder. Using a cryogenic separation process, all the components of each hop fraction are preserved, producing two simultaneous products: concentrated lupulin powder, and debittered leaf. All that hop talk boils down to an imperial IPA that will be extra dank.
This DIPA takes IQ and turns everything up to 11: more malts, more hops, more bitter, more in-your-face. Flavors reminiscent of grapefruit, pineapple, lemongrass and a touch of cantaloupe.
Inspired by the Miles Davis classic Boplicity and the improvisational spirit of jazz, Hoplicity carefully crafts a steady backbeat of alpha acids and transitioning layers of resinous, cirtus, and tropical hops into a rich textured ensemble. This is our hoppiest beer and promises to leave your palate stunned, erratic, and eager for more.

Solid beer with good base malt characteristics, hints of lemongrass from the hops, med-dry finish with hop pop at the end.
Maduro is a Northern English-style brown ale with some American affectations. Maduro is higher in alcohol than the common English brown ale and features flaked oats in the malt bill which imparts a silky body and works to mesh the roasted, toasted and chocolate components together in Maduro’s complex malt profile. The end result is a remarkably full-flavored yet approachable and sessionable brown ale that pairs well with mild to medium cigars.
Upon pouring, this beer is light in color with very little haze and a very thick head. Similar to traditional German-style Weissbier, this beer boasts huge banana and clove aromas followed by a wonderful taste of banana, vanilla and spices that finishes with a fruity, smooth aftertaste. The fluffy mouthfeel can be attributed to the amount of protein gained from the wheat which also leaves a beautiful lacing in your glass.
A Golden Rye IPA An outstanding hop from New Zealand, Nelson Sauvin, is generously used throughout the brewing and dry-hopping of this unique beer. European rye is added for a smooth, malty addition to flavor. Perfect 100 on Ratebeer!
This American wild ale is fermented with a Belgian wild yeast from the Senne Valley and aged in oak wine barrels with blackberries.
At Moody Tongue, our goal is to create beers which excite the palate – and we are always on the search for multi-dimensional ingredients which complement traditional beer styles. Grapefruits, with their high acidity, are a natural candidate to wake the palate and provide balance with the sweetness of malt. In this Pilsner, we capture sweet, sour and bitter tastes from the grapefruit within a light, refreshing body. Enjoy this Peeled Grapefruit Pilsner with sunshine and a grill, and the pairing opportunities will be endless.
Primarily fermented with our mixed culture of wild yeast, each batch of Petite Sour undergoes a secondary fermentation in large oak foeders with a generous amount of whole fruit. Showcasing the fruit-derived characteristics, Petite Sour is the perfect sour beer for all seasons and occassions.
With deep black color, a thick, creamy head, rich chocolate, toffee and coffee flavors, and full-bodied smoothness, Anchor Porter® is the epitome of a handcrafted dark beer. A blend of specially roasted pale, caramel, chocolate, and black malts, along with our top-fermenting yeast, creates complexity without bitterness. The brew is hopped at a high rate, and naturally carbonated. The result is dark in the glass, but surprisingly light on the palate. Anchor Porter® became the first modern American porter style beer when it was introduced in 1972. Over 40 years later, our porter continues to reward those who look beyond its intimidating appearance to discover its smooth, full-bodied drinkability. Anchor Porter® is the definitive American Porter.
Rosetta is brewed and blended for us by our sister brewery Liefmans in Belgium. It’s a perfectly balanced combination of old (aged on cherries at least three years) and young Flemish brown ale (or oud bruin) with a lively and fruity kriek, or cherry beer. The blend, which was developed by our Brewmaster Phil Leinhart, results in a complex yet refreshing mahogany-brown brew that is an intriguing interplay of tartness and sweetness.
Not another boring summer wheat beer or lemonade shandy—Rübæus is Founders’ way to celebrate the season’s warmest months. Optimizing the flavor of fresh raspberries added at multiple stages during fermentation, this stunning berry red masterpiece is the perfect balance of sweet and tart. No question about it, this beer is 100% Founders.
The Saison Dupont is a top fermentation beer with refermentation in the bottle. Since 1844, this beer has been brewed in our farm-brewery, during the winter time. Then this beer became a second refermentation in the barrel. During the next summer, this very thirst-quenching beer was served to the “saisoniers” which were working on the fields. Surely therefore, our Saison Dupont is considered as “the classic” among the Belgian season beers! Coppery blond, the finest aromas and a strong bitterness transform this beer into a thirst-quenchener with no equal, just the way it was created. Our selection of yeasts is the perfect base for these typical aromas and ditto taste. A real refermentation in the bottle, which will continue for a long time in your cellar, result into this complex and particular aromatic beer.
Don’t let it fool you. This is an imperial stout first and foremost. Deep dark malts lend espresso notes and British crystal malts contribute the perfect toffee and caramel flavor. Despite the dry finish there is a wonderful molasses character compliments of brown cane sugar, and just enough residual sugar to finish full-bodied but never cloying. The peanut butter is simply featured to augment what is already there…a fantastic example of a legendary beer style.
Vanilla Cherry Dogpatch takes everything you love about our regular Dogpatch Sour and turns it up to 11. We started with our base red sour ale and added a ridiculous amount of Bing, Rainier and Montmorency Cherries to each barrel for a juicy, intense cherry flavor that exudes summer. Then we added in whole Madagascar vanilla beans, building on oak’s natural vanilla flavor. The final blend creates a delicate balance of fruit and oak that keeps you coming back for more. Pair this summer sipper with game bird, fruit sauces and still-warm pie.
You know the expression, “A Velvet Glove and an Iron Fist”? It was coined to refer to a regime that used a soft exterior to hide its punishingly unforgiving nature. This seems an apt description for our Velvet Glove. Its placid appearance and unparalleled smoothness hide the truth; this is one fiendishly strong stout. Rich, chocolaty espresso dominates the flavor profile, with a velvety smooth texture that will haunt your senses.
This Cabernet Sauvignon boasts rich, ripe aromas, with notable flavors of black cherry and currants, while exhibiting a lengthy finish. A terrific accompaniment to fine cuts of beef or a hearty winter stew.
The ideal wine for shellfish. A crisp, freshing white, showing citrus and mineral with that classic peach pit and wet stone character. It is medium bodied, fresh and racy in the mouth with balanced alcohol
Why "Authentica"? Because our Classic Red Sangria is authentically Spanish and uses only native Spanish grapes and natural ingredients to create deliciously bright flavors of juicy orange citrus, cherry, grape, and a touch of apple. Authentica is lower in calories, per ounce, than most Sangrias! We let the fruit make it sweet, so don't have to add very much sugar. The result is a more refreshing, easier to drink Sangria.
Gorgeous aromas of earthy mushroom and fresh raspberry are highlighted by notes of fresh violet and ripe plum. The palate expands to include a savory abundance of red currant, dark cherry, rich mocha and wild strawberry on a long, velvety finish.
This wine is purely and simply summertime in a glass. The 2015 Hogwash Rose displays a pale salmon-pink color and a beautiful and lively nose that showcases aromas of watermelon candy, red cherries, red current and rose water. Medium bodied, it has incredible vibrancy that combines with its great finish to create a wine that is both a very serious rose wine but has something for everyone.
